The Children's Aid Society of Oxford County was established in 1895 as a non-for-profit charitable organization focusing on the well-being and protection of children.

The Society is one of 47 Children's Aid Societies in Ontario and is mandated under the Child and Family Services Act of Ontario (CFSA) to investigate all allegations of child abuse, including neglect, while also providing protection services to children, youth and their families residing in Oxford County.

The Children's Aid Society of Oxford County is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors elected from the local community and is funded by the Ontario government through the Ministry of Children & Youth Services.

Since 1912, the Ontario Association of Children's Aid Societies (OACAS) has represented Children's Aid Societies in Ontario and provided service in the areas of government relations, communications, information management, education and training to advocate for the protection and well-being of children.
